this toned my hair a bit, but not crazy well—though full disclosure, I used it on my level 7-8ish ash blonde hair. it probably works better on 9s and 10s. but I’m not even that beat up about it because of how amazing it made my hair feel—I left it on for around 20 minutes, and around 2 days later my hair still feels incredible. super soft, no snags when I brush, and weirdly voluminous, which is often the exact opposite these super thick masks have on my fine hair. it really just all around made my hair feel more full of life. even after a nasty, sweaty kickboxing class, my hair still has the soft, swoopy blowout feel the mask gave me. super impressed! also, smells really good and didn’t stain my hands, neck, and every last inch of my immediate surroundings like a lot of pigmented masks do.

my only complaint, which I didn’t really want to knock off any stars for since it’s just circumstance, is that I used 3/4 of the entire container to cover my head, but it’s because I have medium-thickness lower back-length hair, so I wasn’t exactly shocked. however, just something to keep in mind if you also have long or just a lot of hair and are thinking about cost per application. this will probably end up being an occasional splurge mask for me, but I know I’ll be looking forward to it as a special treat each time!
