How to dye my hair by myself at home??

  • Hi! I am Gabby and I have been wanting to dye my hair for a long time! I have dark brown, wavy, long hair with butterfly layers that i cut myself! I want to do a balayage, but i dont want super blond hair, i want it to grow out naturally, i want my mids to be a few shades ligher than my root, then i want my ends to end up light brown. i do want highights, but not super blond, like light brown highlights that arent super super obvious. I watched your balayage video and it definantely helped, but i dont know how to do these sections on myself or how to get the color i want! I don't know whether to use toner, or box dye, or both! Please help! I need all the tips in the world!

  • Hi Beautiful 💛

Your color vision sounds gorgeous—soft, natural dimension that grows out beautifully. You can use bleach, but we recommend using a high lift color instead. It’s a more controlled way to get natural-looking highlights and helps prevent your hair from going too blonde.

You might need a toner after lightening to adjust the tone, but keep in mind—a toner won’t lighten your hair, it just helps refine the color after lifting.

If you’re unsure which products to use, we suggest stopping by a Sally Beauty store. They can help guide you and recommend a kit with everything you need.

You’ve totally got this—your balayage is going to look amazing! ✨💛
