HIIII allll ^^
so ive been bleaching and toning my hair for a while now (also with funky toning colours). But the effects are always muted of course cuz its toners. I want to switch to semi permanent dyes cuz i think its healthier and i like vibrant, but id like the possibility to dilute them and make them pastel cuz vibrant is a wjole commitment.
i know i can buy the 'clear' hairdye or toner, but can't i just add water or colourless conditioner? Its already so expensive.
thankss!
Hiiii beautiful! 💜 Yes, switching to semi-permanent color is such a fun option, especially if you want more vibrancy without using developer every time.
For diluting: I would not recommend adding water. It can make the color runny, patchy, and harder to apply evenly. But you can use a white/colorless conditioner to dilute semi-permanent color and create a pastel shade. Just know that using conditioner may make the color a little softer and potentially less long-lasting than using a true clear mixer.
Start with a small amount of color and add conditioner until you get the shade you want. Pastels usually need a very light blonde base, so if your hair has any yellow warmth, it can affect the final tone.
We also have 5 Minute Top Coat Colors in two pastel shades: Lavender and Rose Gold. These are already lighter, softer colors, so they might be perfect options if you want pastel without mixing it yourself.
Definitely do a test strand first so you can see the exact result before committing to your whole head. Pastel hair is gorgeous, but she can be picky 😅✨
