Hair help

  • Hello,

I need some help with my hair. I naturally have blond/blonde hair and when I was little it was basically white.

Now that I am older it's changed to this more gold blond/blonde tone. But ever since middle school, my hair gets this weird green tone to my hair sometimes. I thought it was what brassy hair was but I'm more somewhere between brass and green gold. Brass is not green enough and green gold is too green. Logically I would think to use a red shampoo (if that even exists) to neutralize the green tones but I'm worried it's just going make my hair brunette.

I would include an image but it's hard to see the green tones in images. I've tried so hard to find anyone else who is experiencing this online but all I kept finding was either brass or people who died their hair green. I used to get bullied about this being told my hair looks dirty and greasy because it's green and I would like to either find out what I'm doing that's making it green or find a way to fight it. I already use a pink shampoo and conditioner, granted it's just colored pink, but still. I don't know what to do at this point so help.

  • Hi beautiful 💛 First of all, I’m sorry you’ve been dealing with this—BUT I think I know exactly what’s going on.

It really sounds like you might have hard water, which can cause mineral buildup (sometimes even chlorine/copper) that leaves blonde hair looking dull, brassy, or slightly green.

    Here’s what to try:

    - Use a clarifying shampoo or clarifying treatment to remove buildup.
    - Malibu makes great hard water treatments that can help pull minerals out of the hair.
    - Consider adding a shower filter — it can make a huge difference long-term if your water is the culprit.

Once you’ve clarified, for the brassiness/warmth you can try some of our Supernova products to help keep your blonde brighter and more balanced.

If you tackle the mineral buildup first, your blonde should start looking cleaner and less “green-gold” again. You’ve got this! 💛✨
