Hello Beautiful! Brad & Staff,
I first want to say I absolutely love watching your videos on YouTube. I use to be a nail technician and worked in a salon where I sold more hair products than the hairdressers did! I'm a talker, I suppose that helps.
I am a 55 yo mom of 4 and I finally let my hair grow out natural. My hair is naturally wavy after having my last child, he is now 19, and he has wavy hair. My hair was extremely straight before I had him. I use to spend so much money on perms but not needed anymore. I have recently in the last 2 years, lost about 120 pounds, this caused me to lose a lot of hair so I cut it off shorter. It use to be at about the middle of my back. I've included pictures of what it looks like currently and a few of what it use to look like when I colored it.
My question is this, is there a style, color or anything that you could suggest that would help me not feel like my gray makes me look so old! I've always been pretty stylish and very young at heart. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
Again, Brad keep up the great work and the fun! You always look so handsome and you have gorgous eyes!
Can't wait to hear back from y'all! Have an amazing day!
Happy Hair Days,
Lisa
Hi Beautiful! 🧡 Thank you for the sweetest message—and congrats on your incredible journey. Losing 120 pounds is huge, and you look AMAZING!! It makes total sense that you’d see some hair changes after that. Also, the fact that you “sold more hair products than the hairdressers” is ICONIC. 😂✨
Your salt-and-pepper is gorgeous and honestly super chic. It’s giving effortless, cool, “I woke up like this” texture (in the best way).
A few ideas to make it feel more fresh and intentional, without losing your natural vibe:
Cut: A textured bixie (pixie-bob) or soft shaggy crop would be PERFECT on you—keep the sides/nape a bit cleaner and leave more length/volume on top with a side-swept fringe. That shape instantly reads modern and fuller.
Silver Brightening: If you want your gray to look more sparkly and less dull, try Platinum 5 Minute Top Coat to enhance and brighten your silver tones.
Keep it Cool: Use Supernova Blonde Toning Shampoo to neutralize any yellowing so your silver stays crisp and “expensive.”
Styling: Lean into that wave! A little Wavetech Extra Hold Foam scrunched into damp hair can help define and hold the texture so it looks styled, not flat.
And if you want a more fun vibe, pops of color would look AMAZING on you—even just a few pieces makes it feel playful and youthful without a full commitment. Think a couple face-framing streaks or a hidden peekaboo panel in shades like Amethyst, Berry, or a Rhodolite for that cool, artsy edge.
Your gray doesn’t age you—it’s your superpower. This is just about making it feel like you, but upgraded. 🧡✨
