MY HAIRDRESSER RUINED MY HAIR! HELP!!

  • I recently went to the hairdressers because I’ve been growing my hair (it’s gotten quite long) and only using semi permanent hair colour to colour it and ONLY bleaching my roots when they come through. So my hair is in overall good health. Not wanting to compromise this or damage my hair myself but wanting a complete transformation, I decided to get a professional to do it.

The hairdresser has fried off most of my hair on one side of my head (chemical burns on my scalp and everything. Completely overprocessed) and instead of being honest and discussing this with me, she’s given me layers. Which I did ask for and she did not advise against (and with layers makes the hair look even thinner and non existent) and left the other side the length it is. My cut is two inches shorter on one side. The fried side. I asked for a shadow root so I could let my roots grow in without worrying about upkeep during a busy period of my life. She put a warm brown in, overlapped onto the parts she'd bleached so I have A BAND OF ORANGE between the roots and the green colour I asked for.
I am so unbelievably devastated. As I've been growing my hair for about five years (since accidentally frying it off myself in like 2020 and having to get a reaaaally short cut because of it) and I just wanted to look nice and feel like myself again and it's literally HORRIFIC. It's so beyond damaged I don't know what to do (but again mainly on ONE side) would Super Gloss help???? Am I going to have to cut it????? I'll attach pictures of my hair before, the pic of what I wanted and what I was left with.

I'm even more upset because she tried to hide it by curling it in such a way I didn't even realise how damaged it was until I got home and tried to brush the curls out bc they were too much. She never discussed with me that it was so unbelievably damaged and what we could do about. And then continued to use straighteners on my hair too😭 Ahhh, please help.

  • Hi Beautiful 💚 I’m so sorry you’re going through this — I know how heartbreaking it is when your hair doesn’t turn out how you envisioned. The good news is you can work toward fixing this, and make it look more intentional while you focus on getting your hair healthy again.

Here’s the safest way forward without bleaching again:

    - If your scalp is still irritated or painful, avoid applying anything to the scalp for now and get it checked if it’s lingering.

    - A small trim will really help. Even just dusting the most fragile ends can make the hair look instantly fuller and prevent more breakage.

    - To blend the warmth/banding and move closer to your inspo green, we recommend using our colors as a “color correction” step. Apply Turquoise on the root area to help neutralize and blend the warmth, then apply Super Yellow on the lighter areas if you want that brighter neon pop. Fully saturate and let it process a bit longer if needed, then rinse cool.

This won’t undo the damage overnight, but it will help the color look much more blended and intentional, and our colors include reparative benefits to help your hair feel better through the process. You’ve got this — and you’re already on the right track. 💚✨
