Hello! I had level 9 bleached hair, that I covered over with brown box dye. That started to get muddy after washing my hair for sometime, and so I decided to use 2N XMondo high gloss color. The result is that it's too dark, on the bleached section and slightly lighter on the roots after washing quite a bit (dyed it yesterday and then washed it like 6 times today). So the result now looks sort of like a natural black to blue black on the bleached sections. I was wondering if there was a way to remove the black color? I'd like to just use the dark brown natural color instead of this black.
How to remove xmondo 2N from previously bleached hair?

Hi Beautiful! 💜 I’d be happy to give you tips on how to remove 2N and get to your desired Dark Brown shade!
2N (Soft Black) uses deep blue and violet pigments to create that rich black look. On bleached hair, which is more porous, it grabs more pigment than on natural roots—so it ended up looking blacker and cooler on the mids and ends.
How to Fade the Color:
- Use clarifying shampoo several times to help lift the excess pigment.
- For faster results, try a bleach-free color remover like Malibu CPR—it’s great for removing demi-permanent color without damaging your hair.
Recoloring with Dark Brown (Once the color has faded):
- Use Super Gloss Dark Brown (5N) for a more natural, softer tone.
- Apply to roots first, then pull through the ends during the last few minutes to avoid over-depositing on porous hair.
- Since 5N also contains blue tones, you can dilute it with conditioner or mix it with Golden Brown (5G) for a more neutral to warm brown result.
Can’t wait to see how it turns out—you’re going to look amazing! 💕✨
