Hi Beautiful! 💜 Going from hot pink to purple sounds amazing! Before you go straight in with the blue, we recommend doing a test strand first. While you might expect a purple result, if the blue you’re using is a darker shade, it could cover the pink completely and look mostly blue rather than purple. If the test strand turns out too blue, we recommend using a purple shade instead to get closer to your goal.
Here are some tips for achieving even results with bleach:
- Start with a lower-volume developer (10 or 20 vol) for the first sections.
- Use 20 or 30 vol on the remaining sections to help them catch up in processing time.
- Work in sections: you can rinse out the bleach in stages instead of waiting to wash it all out at once.
- Begin at the back of your head, since it processes slower. By the time you finish applying the front, you can rinse the back and let the front continue processing.
- Keep in mind, bleach typically stops processing after about 1 hour, but leaving it on too long can still cause damage—so keep a close eye on timing.
You’ve got this—and we can’t wait to see you glowing in your purple era! 💜✨
