I have a vision, but need help reaching it.

  • Hi Brad and XMONDO team!

Quick intro, I'm Jadi, from VA, USA, and have been watching your vids for a bit for tips and laughs on YT.

Since hearing about your hair color, it's caught my attention and made me want to look into it, but uh... 💧It's gonna be a journey.

For context, I'm MtF 🏳️‍⚧️. (💧I'm not overly comfortable just dropping that info loosely since... *Sigh* my fear of society, but this will make sense for what I'm asking about.) My natural hair is black, 4c, and a bit of a small 'fro that used to be twisted up years ago. Today, I'm wearing a wig (💧from Amazon) with subtle blue highlights. I don't plan on keeping it like this.

    My vision:

    • Slightly hovering shoulder length hair, or at least just long enough to have a ponytail, if desired.
    • Wavy (potentially 4c > 2b)
    • Annnnnnd colored hair, about halfway down, with a galactic look (so likely Blue, purple, pops of neon colors, maybe..?)

While this maybe be the road I'm taking, I'm wondering...

    • What could help promote hair growth?
    • What would be ideal for straightening hair from 4c?
    • Foreseeing that I would have to bleach my hair, what would be practical to achieve only the benefits?
    • What color(s) may be a good for this galactic, spacey look?
    • And, in what order would I have to go about this?

💧I'm sorry for the many questions, it's just... *Sigh* that's the vision, but I feel like I need help getting there. If I need to drop a photo of my current look, I think I'd only be okay if it was private (💧again, fear of society and the phobic mess out there, thus this is to hide my face).

I'd love to hear back from anyone on this. I know I've asked the team about what to do to promote growth and just recently what could help straighten, but this lays out everything I have in mind.

Again, love the videos, and I hope you have an awesome rest of your day, and a bright future ahead. 💫

    ❤️- Jadi

  • Hi beautiful! 🌟 First off, thank you for sharing your vision with us—I’m so excited for your journey! Let’s break it down so you can achieve that galactic, spacey look while keeping your hair healthy. For promoting hair growth, consistency is key. Our Viper Smoothing Oil can be a great addition to your routine, as it not only nourishes your hair but also protects it from damage, which is essential for length retention. Along with that, the Recalibrate Bond Repair Shampoo and Conditioner duo is perfect for strengthening your hair from within, helping to minimize breakage. When it comes to straightening your 4c hair, it’s all about gentle techniques. You might consider trying our Forcefield Heat Shield to help prep and protect your hair before styling. This will give you that lightweight hold while maintaining your natural texture. Just remember to avoid high heat and always use a heat protectant! Now, for the fun part—colors! For that galactic look, I’m thinking a blend of Super Blue, Super Purple, and a pop of neon Pink from our XMONDO Color Collection could be absolutely stunning. You’ll want to start by lifting your natural color with a gentle lightener, then apply your chosen shades. Start with the lightest colors first and work your way to the darker tones. Remember, this is a journey, and we’re here with you every step of the way. Take your time, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you need more guidance. You’ve got this, and your future is as bright as those stars you’re inspired by! 💫

  • Hi Hello, Mr. Mondo!

First off, thank you for responding! I'm definitely glad to hear back from ya!

I gave your suggestions a thorough read and a screenshot for notes as this gets carried out!

That said, I have some ideas to run~

First, treatment. In your reply, you suggested using Viper, Recalibrate, and ForceField from your line. I can def attest to Viper, it feels phenomenal. Every time I run my hands through, it's so soft and glides like a dream. Alongside it, I've been using Project X. It's cleared all the kinks and tangles in my hair so well and feels just wonderful every time I use it.

But moving on, I have other plans. What if to start after this, I go to the recalibrate to strengthen and repair the bonds in my hair, and as a treatment, I reach for the tub of Hydrify? This, in theory, would give it a kickstart with hydrating the hair and conditioning it with a bit more nourishment.

Once the shampoo and conditioner is done, it'll be time to say hello to Hydroglow (💧Yes, the rhyme was on purpose). This is when it's go time, and hopefully by the time I get there, Viper comes back. If not, there are other ways to give the hair another nudge of health, and/or we go to the Forcefield to ready the hair for straightening.

Next would be to blow dry to puff and blow it out some, then time to run a silk press with some flat irons. I've been watching close attention and researching carefully on how to go about that, as well as the next part, which still scares me some, but... *Deep breath* It'll be time for bleach.

The hair would have some time to recover, maybe a few days to a week, but then after, it'll be bleach time with what I'm thinking would be better this time around is 20 volume. Methinks with the hair being short, 30 might be too intense, and we want a nice, almost deep gradient from black to Galactic Aurora Borealis.

Speaking of which, Colors! I like the idea of Blue, purple, pink. There was a moment where I asked though, "but what if turquoise?". For visual, think black side bang bob kind of cut. Down the hair, we have a deep purple, to blue, and an edge and balayage of turquoise to accent. Almost like the hair is a sword, the turquoise is at the edge, and wisps of it cut into the blue, if that makes sense.

This is the picture in my head. If I have to draw it out, I will hook my tablet up and draw it down!

Again, I really do thank you for the response. Let me know whatcha think. 🤔 Maybe when it's time, I'll record the changes. All in all, take care, love someone special today, stay curious, and as always, have a bright future ahead! 💫

P.S. I saw what you did there in the end. Heckin' word play with the little signature emoji, slick. XD

  • > // update_

I realized something I didn't think through. + Happy little accidental order that could maybe work out..?

So I just read back over what I was thinking at the time when I was envisioning what kind of care I wanted to try out to revive my hair since I figured it was compromised before the styling could take place, and... I wasn't thinking about the fact that I was gonna over do the care for my hair. In other words, there was a better way to go about this.

So to revise what what I'm considering for phase 1 of my little makeover, I think what I'm looking at from the line in terms of helping to nourish the hair back to health is getting the Hydraglow Shampoo, and the Recalibrate Conditioner. The theory is that the shampoo is going to cleanse and hydrate the hair at the same time, and then the conditioner, once the shampoo is fully rinsed out, is going to help strength and replace the lost oils that were stripped from the cuticles in the hair and possibly making the root stronger to the scalp. This is to hopefully get 2 birds with 1 scone.

Now what about the after treatment? What I was thinking was the Recalibrate Leave-in cream to help with reinforcing the strength a bit more. This is just to get the hair in place for the Silk press after applying the ForceField Heat Shield (or another heat protectant), to which then is going to go to be stylized to likely either a bob or pixie, give or take how much length I have on my hair, and then I have big scary step last... *sigh* Bleach.

Now when it's time for the color process, I'm looking to do perhaps 20 vol to play it safe, 30 to be sure. I'm not getting both, I'm just saying it's between one of the other. I saw the video of the various powders that Brad used on YouTube, including the one I was recommended, ion. 💧I'm just gonna say I'm not taking chances with that, hun. I want to be very careful with this process. I'm gonna run the bleach and then go a few days without it, so 24 to 72 to make sure that the hair isn't damaged, and I will see about using the Hydrify Max Treatment Mask to really get it back to health.

I'll then have to maybe aim for an ombre of Purple to Blue, and then kind of a hard line of Turqouise along the ends, to make it look like a glowing blade. The Turqouise is also going to be lightly balayaged into the blue a bit so it's kinda wisping into the blue. I feel like these color may work ideally because the color palette would play into it being analogous.

I have no visual yet of the look I'm aiming for, but I'm taking my time to really think it over. Once the whole makeover is done, it's just maintainence, which I think is gonna play into the Hydrify Smoothing Oil and possibly the Forcefield Heat Shield to keep the UV at bay with the sun and all (not that I go outside much, but that could change in 2025).

That's what I'm revising from my vision, but what was the "whoops"? Well... 💧I accidentally placed an order for the oil and the hydrify mask. After running the talk with my mom and all, we agree to let it play through and let the package fulfill. While I am familiar with Hydrify Smoothing Oil back when it was Viper and how phenomenal it feels when applied, I can't say I have tried the mask, so it'll be a first for me. If anything I might treat it a bit as like training wheels to when I go to apply the color to my hair, but it is gonna cover everything, I'm just getting the technique down first.

and that's all about it for what happened. Not a bit story, but no clickbait to be found here, it's actual "Happy little accident".

All that said, I am open to any thoughts, suggestions, concerns, or questions. Before you ask if I've done this before, that would be one big Negative, a humongus nope. This is a new dive for me, but I can't wait to explore what there is to learn here.

I hope you all take care, love someone special today, stay curious, and as always, have a bright future ahead. 💫

    With Love and respect,
    Jadi D. 🩵

  • > / update // PHASE 1 COMING SOON_

    WELP! 👏 ... IT'S TIME TO COMMIT!

The ForceField Heat Shield has been ordered, and it is the one thing needed to kick off the Silk Press step! I'm excited, but I'm also scared.

I'll explain more details in a video I'll be working on (yes, I planned on doing this because why not record a big change in my life?), but to give you the cliff notes, this isn't exactly all going accordingly to my plans. I'm gonna nose dive into it with what I have here, but it's not to say I'm at a disadvantage, it's more so to say I'm not gonna have to most optimal chance to get the most out of this committed makeover, but that's an ideal, we're going for practical.

Soon as I have the ForceField Heat Shield here, the process can then undergo. Soon after, I might try my hand at doing a side shave. Maybe like a cross between pixie and bob? I'm not sure, but I'm looking at inspirations, and will continue to update as things move along.

Any tips or advice with the Silk Press would be ABSOLUTELY helpful in the meantime. Hope you all take care, love someone special today, stay curious, and have a bright future ahead.

    With love and respect,

    Jadi 🩵💫
