Will 20 vol work to retouch dark roots after a bleach disaster?

  • hi! i recently got my hair to a hot pink which i love! unfortunately my hair was box dyed black so it took two bleaches (30 vol) and it is quite damaged and a few small clumps fell out :( my natural hair is dark brown a few shades lighter than black. do you think i could use 20 vol when my new roots grow in for a touch up? would that help? and should i wait extra long to retouch my roots since my hair is damaged? i attached photos of my pink hair and my natural roots 🩷🩷

ps i just ordered k18 and am planning to get a trim to help mitigate some of the damage

  • Hi Beautiful! 💖 First off - your pink hair looks AMAZING! You can totally use 20 volume for your root touch-up. The natural heat from your scalp will help the bleach work faster, especially since there’s no old black box dye in your regrowth 🙌

Just make sure you have 6–8 weeks of new growth before going back in. And if you’re worried about overlapping onto the pink, apply a bit of conditioner where the bleach shouldn’t go - it acts like a barrier 👌

So excited you’re trying K18 and planning a trim - that’s the perfect combo for keeping your hair strong and healthy as you maintain your color! 💕 Can’t wait to see how it turns out!
