Removing permanent black dye (salon) and xmondo red

  • I am in need of a change, I've been doing black hair from a salon with chunky ginger (my natural color) for a while and then went over it all with the xmondo red which I loved, but it's summer time now and I really want to go lighter for the summer, the red has fades quite a bit, so I know that won't be too hard to get out but the black is my biggest issue. I just want to be ginger again. I'm not sure what products to use to get the black out with the least amount of damage. I do weekly collagen hair masks from Karseell and have found that product works great on keeping my hair soft and minimizes damage after dying. But I need help with color removers! Plz help

  • Hi Beautiful ❤️ I love that you’re ready for a summer glow-up—going back to your natural ginger is going to look absolutely stunning!

The black can be tricky to remove, but the good news is it naturally lifts through red tones, so you won’t need to lighten too much to get back to that gorgeous ginger shade 🙌

You can start with a color remover for permanent or oxidative dyes—just avoid ones made only for semi-permanent color. Since many color removers are basically gentle bleach, you might want to go straight for a bleach wash using bleach + shampoo + 20 vol developer.

The best part? You’re only aiming for an orange base, so you don’t need to leave it on long—just lift enough for copper to shine!

Once your hair is light enough, we recommend using our Copper Super Gloss Treatment—it’ll give you a shiny, soft, vibrant copper tone while helping to restore your hair from any damage or dryness during the process.

You’ve got this—and we can’t wait to see you glowing in your copper era! 🍑✨

  • That ginger glow-up sounds amazing! Black dye can definitely be stubborn, but hitting that warm orange base is exactly what you need for a perfect copper canvas.

While you're waiting for that color remover or bleach wash to process and do its magic, it's the perfect time to map out your personal renewal cycles.
